About Pistachio Chocolate Bark

Chocolate bark is simple to make and always a hit. It’s more of a sweet snack than a dessert. All you need is two ingredients and a little time to create something everyone will discuss. You can box some up for everyone to go home or serve them on a plate at a dinner party table.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8ounces dark chocolate baking wafers
  • ¼cup chopped roasted, salted pistachios

HOW TO PREPARE

  • Step 1 Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the wafers in a bowl, then set the bowl over a pan of rapidly boiling water (or use a double boiler).  
  • Step 2 Allow chocolate to melt completely, stirring frequently, then pour onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread to a thickness of about ⅛ inch. Sprinkle the surface with chopped pistachios. Leave in a cool place to harden, about 2 hours. To serve, break bark into rough pieces.  
  • You can add your own touch by adding some crushed nuts on top.  

Extra Tips for the best result

Suggestion to make the bark look and taste better, use an 8-oz bar of high-quality dark chocolate. Break into pieces, place in a glass liquid measuring cup and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in-between. Once melted, stir in 1/2 tsp coconut oil (for sheen) then pour onto parchment. You can also add 1/2 tsp of vanilla, almond or other extract to complement the nuts used.
